The annual costume party Midsummer Night's Dream this year will be held on July 18 at VDNH. Representatives of the event spoke about this Life around.
They want to hold a party next to the abandoned Golden Ear restaurant in the western part of the exhibition, "where the unique ruins of the utopian civilization of the USSR have been preserved," the organizers say. Moreover, the theme of the ball this year is not the past, but the future "as we imagine it." Therefore, guests are expected not in costumes of forest fantastic creatures, as it was in previous years, but in outfits in a futuristic style.
"The sources of inspiration for the costumes can serve as the smooth surfaces of spacecraft, retro-futurism, armor of the space army, science fiction, alien creatures, Star Wars, photographs of space and planets," the ball organizers explain. They also created a special group where those interested can peep on the ideas of the outfits.
Director Givile Montvilayte, who had been involved in Midsummer Night's Dream in previous years, and also did the Midwinter Ball in the Petrovsky Palace, called for the creation of the show program. The program traditionally expects theatrical performances and light installations.
The lineup and information on registering and selling tickets should appear in the official event group on Facebook in the coming days.
The costume party Midsummer Night's Dream since 2007 took place in the Serednikovo estate near Moscow.
